Alfa Romeo
Alfa Romeo logo Alfa Romeo - Driven to be Different. Welcome to the Alfa Romeo part of my site. Hereinafter I would like to present my cars, the marque Alfa Romeo for short and my passion to these cars.
Alfa Romeo is an Italian marque, renowned for racing endeavours, especially during the thirties, sixties and most recently in the Touring Cars formula. These cars are now displayed in the historic museum of Alfa Romeo, in which I took a walk and shot some pictures.
Some pictures of other beautiful Alfa Romeo prototypes and cars from other owners have been arranged on this site too.
My Alfa Romeo cars
Since then I discovered the marque Alfa Romeo in 1996 I drive/drove the following models in chronological order.
Alfa 145 1.6iE L Alfa 145 1.6iE L

Summer 1997 - July 1998

This car was my first Alfa Romeo. It was equipped with a wonderful 1600 ccm boxer engine. His sound and riding quality made me addicted, I didn't buy another marque than Alfa Romeo and I am interested in other Alfa Romeo new- and oldtimer.
Alfa 156 1.6TS Alfa 156 1.6TS

July 1998 - November 1998

This was the next one, my first Alfa 156. While boxer engines were not produced any more, it was a Twin Spark in the same dimension. Short later I noticed the weight of the car is too high for that small capacity.

November 1998 - August 2000

While the capacity of the engine was not enough I decided to upgrade my car, I changed it for an Alfa 156 with a 2 Litre engine.

Short history
Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale

Alfa Romeo Nuvola
In 1910, a group of Milanese businessmen took over a factory in Portello, an industrial suburb of Milan, to produce Darracq 4-cylinder taxicabs. This group was called Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili, or A.L.F.A. The company entered production at a time when the sporting world was re-focusing its attention on regular production vehicles, it means sporting passenger cars with small, high-efficiency engines. In 1916 the mining industrialist Nicola Romeo joined ALFA and the Alfa Romeo marque was born. Alfa Romeo won almost every major motor competition in Europe. From hill climbs to Grand Prix, Le Mans and Mille Miglia, Alfa's cars set standards by which others were judged. The early Alfas were considered to be among the world's ultimate road cars, even surpassing Mercedes, Maserati and Bugatti. Alfa worked frequently together with the major coachbuilders like Zagato, Touring, Pinin Farina to produce luxury vehicles for wealthy people. After the war Alfa changed over the production to make quantity production. A new four-cylinder became the standard at the engine producion, the mass of the cars became smaller, but the Coure Sportivo remained unchanged. This sporty heart characterizes still the modern Alfa Romeos.
Alfa Romeo got lately the following international honors:
Car of the year
Alfa 156 - Car of the year 1998
Alfa Romeo 2.5 V6 engine - Engine of the year 2000
Alfa 147 - Car of the year 2001
